What Parents Said

‘Myette’s summer performance of Hamish Hound was beautifully created with many colourful characters, bubbles, lights and music! Her storytelling is engaging and really takes the children on a journey.’

"2025 Pitlochry Festival Theatre

‘These guys really enjoyed Hamish the Hound @pitlochryft this afternoon!  Congratulations to @myette.puppets on a really lovely show!’

My work is shaped by a sense of wonder and a feeling that we are part of something bigger than ourselves. These ideas sit gently beneath the performances, giving children their first experience of story as something meaningful and connected to the wider world.

The characters are drawn from familiar story types found across many cultures — the hero, the seeker, the mentor, the trickster. Through them, the stories explore belonging, courage, discovery, and our place within the natural world.

My Inspiration

About the shows…

These standalone 30 - 45-minute performances allow space for deeper storytelling and richer character journeys. Each show is performed by a maximum of two performers, me and one collaborator, and we narrate and voice all the characters.

The playfulness and interaction of the shorter pieces remain, but these stories explore not only what the characters do, but why they do it.

Familiar characters return, each shaped by a defining desire

  • Raven is drawn to what glitters

  • La Petite Ballerine longs to dance

  • Hamish Hound follows his nose

  • Banjo loves to play

  • Moonchild is devoted to the moon

  • Owl offers wisdom

  • The mouse is ever busy

  • Frog loves water

  • Penguin returns what is lost

The Shows

Hamish Hound and His incredble Nose

Hamish works in the circus and has an extraordinary nose – so extraordinary, some say it’s a superpower! But one morning, Hamish wakes up to find that his nose has vanished!

With help from his colourful circus friends, he sets off on a playful, topsy-turvy adventure to find it. Along the way, Hamish discovers that being special isn’t about tricks or talent – it’s about friendship, belonging, the magic of being part of something bigger and finding your place in the world…

Filled with fun, laughter and canine entertainment.

(Suggested ticket Price: £12.50 per child, and adults come free when accompanying a child.)

Hamish the Hound and His Great Adventure

This is a new Hamish Hound Adventure available from July 26 onwards.

Hamish Hound and his friends are stars of a circus nestled in the exotic gardens of a grand Scottish estate — until one wild storm destroys everything. With the tent in tatters and developers circling, the circus has one last chance.

Armed with a mysterious book of plants, they set off around the world to perform, gather rare seeds, and save their home. But a charming new performer joins the troupe… And Hamish’s nose senses trouble.

(Suggested ticket Price: £12.50 per child, and adults come free when accompanying a child.)

Practical Information

These shows are designed to be flexible and are ideal for small theatres, studio spaces, community halls, schools, festivals- including open-air, and hotel venues.

The set for Hamish Hound is larger and more developed than the shorter 15-minute performances, creating a richer visual world while remaining suitable for intimate spaces.

I tour with my own portable lighting and sound system, with sound, operated through QLab. This allows the show to be presented in venues with minimal technical support.
