Introduction to Theatrical Puppetry. Professional Practitioner Workshops & Consultation

Practical and creative workshops exploring how puppetry can be used to support storytelling, imagination, and communication — suitable for Theatre professionals, Early Years practitioners, teachers, and adults who are simply curious to learn.

You will be introduced to different types of puppets and simple ways to bring them to life. We will explore story structure and create characters inspired by familiar archetypes, drawing on your own stories, environments, and local folklore.

Through playful exercises, you will learn how to tell stories using found objects, and develop skills in movement, voice, and character that can be used in both educational settings and creative practice.

You will also make your own simple stick animal puppet, and work in small groups to create and share a short performance by the end of the session.

Ideal for Early Years practice, teaching, and anyone interested in puppetry, storytelling, and creative play.
