My Story

This is my story, and hopefully many more chapters yet to come, with new beginnings all the time.  None of us comes from nothing, as Billy Connolly says; we are influenced, and our views and work are crafted and nurtured by others. It’s not that there are no new ideas in the world anymore, but that there were never ideas in isolation, and we build from what has gone before. Our worlds are built by nurture, and often more than nature, and therefore, we need to be open to guide the next generation and subsequent generations and give them stories and the arts that embrace our respective cultures, history, and identities. This blog is about my background and why I do what I do. I had an extraordinary childhood growing up in a theatrical family, and my family's theatre history goes back to the 19th-century Music Hall. It is written from my point of view and also includes some of my thoughts on life, and on childhood development and neurodiversity, which was the basis of my MA research work. Above all, I hope you will enjoy reading each post.
